Tree-Nation operates a proprietary two-tier carbon certification system. Foundation Certification covers large-scale, structured reforestation systems with standardised carbon measurement. Mission Certification covers ecosystem-based restoration projects where biodiversity and ecosystem health drive long-term carbon storage. Every certified project is verified through geolocated planting evidence, field monitoring, and remote sensing — fully traceable at the individual tree level. The email contains a link to their tree: species, project, location on a map, and planting certificate. If they choose to create a free Tree-Nation account, the tree is added to their own growing forest. If they don't, the tree is planted regardless. Two follow-up reminders go out automatically — but the planting commitment is always honoured.
